WordPress is not a punishment
When you want to run the site yourself and the design is conventional, it is genuinely the better tool. We build it properly rather than talking you out of it.
You own everything
The code, the content and the accounts are yours at handover, documented well enough that another developer could pick them up.
No monthly lock-in
Hosting a small site usually costs nothing. If you want us to look after it afterwards that is a separate arrangement, never a condition of the build.
